Tranquil Seascape Garden – Case Study

The Challenge

This garden presented a narrow 4m x 9m strip of green grass with a narrow surrounding border when Artisan Gardeners arrived. Our client felt that whilst the garden was typical of a Victorian terrace, it lacked imagination and wasn’t very inspiring

The Solution

The aim here was to bring the feeling of the seaside closer to home, and evoke the calm atmosphere of the holidays. Different levels were introduced, to allow ‘sea’ breeze to tumble around and plant choices echo those of the coast.

How we did it…

  • Design 25%
  • Landscaping 10%
  • Planting 60%
  • Aftercare 5%

Description of work

Artisan Gardeners were able to change the levels within this space by creating a raised mound for planting on one-half of the garden and a curved stepping stone path leading to an intimate decking area at the evening sun spot under a lilac tree.

Installed by: Lucie Tait of The Artisan Gardeners & Henry Ponsford.

The Results:

This escape was a joy to create and, as with all our gardens, there are spaces to dwell and enjoy the garden, from morning coffee to evening dining with each space offering something different to view from various angles.
